So when I tweeted at Greg Rucka (@ruckawriter) to congratulate him on the awesomeness that is Batwoman: Elegy, I squeed a little bit at getting a response (it was "Thank you. I first came across Batwoman: Elegy about a year ago when I saw a photo roundup of Read Comics in Public Day. It looks gorgeous, especially if you like your superheroines oversexualized. Someone in one of photos was holding a copy of this very comic, and the cover totally caught my eye. Long over due, here is a bit of a recap/review of the New 52′s relaunch of the Batwoman series. Batwoman: Elegy Written by Greg Rucka Illustrated by J.H. Batwoman: Elegy was originally released as Detective Comics issues 854 to 860 and I, of course, was late to the party on those issues as well, with almost all of them selling out immediately. Thanks to the writing of Greg Rucka this one is an enjoyable read. Batwoman: Elegy Written by Greg Rucka Art by J. This collection includes Detective Comics 854-860, which were some of the best comics released last year. Elegy is a high paced thriller that follows Batwoman, a lesbian, rebelious, rugged yet soft heroine, in her fight against a religious cult that is led by a new Lewis Carrol quoting High Madame named Alice. This past week DC released the eagerly anticipated Batwoman: Elegy hardcover. I know I said the new Batman is good, but this is even better! Williams III Colored by Dave Stewart Lettered by Todd Klein Published by DC. This is a difficult book to write about.
